Few musicians have Tamer‘s ability to convey the frustration amongst Middle Eastern youth. And few Palestinians have been working as hard as Tamer to promote a new wave of music and culture. A former student at the Edward Said musical conservatory in Ramallah, he handles several instruments, is a composer and producer, and has taken part in myriads of musical projects. In 2008, he released his debut album, Mir’ah, a product of years of unrest and conflict in Palestine. This unrest is easily heard on the seven intense and almost visual songs, conveying strong emotions and restless energy mainly through vocals and strings. Tamer is currently working on his second album, and is a strong contributor to the pan-arabic musical collective Alif Ensemble. He is the administrator of Eka3, a network of creative souls working with distribution, booking and marketing of alternative music in the Arab world.
