Africa Express was set up to promote artistic collaboration between African and western musicians and to widen the appreciation of African music and culture. They have hosted a series of highly-praised events in the UK and Europe and toured in Africa.
During the Oslo World the film about this spectacular project will be screened. Come join us as hundreds of artists, from the UK, US, Australia, Senegal and Mali get ready to embark the train on a unique musical journey. The movie shows artists like Rokia Traoré, Amadou Bagayoko, Baaba Maal, Peter Hook , John Paul Jones, Damon Albarn, Fatoumata Diawara, Paul McCartney and many more.
The screening of African Express will be followed by a short conversation with Stephen Budd, the co-founder of Africa Express. Budd is also a manager, rock festival owner and Co-Chairman of the Music Managers Forum, the world’s largest representative trade body of music managers.
