Youth everywhere have stories to tell that reveal a great deal about their identity, heritage and life experiences. From marginalized youth living in the city, to youth living in conditions of geo-political conflict, storytelling and music appear as tools of empowerment. Stories that emerge as creative expressions can facilitate the encounter and connection between people not only across the globe, but also in our own communities.
In collaboration with Norwegian Afghanistan Committee, UPOLERT, TeksLab and Melahuset, Oslo World will produce a set of events (workshop, seminar, concert and artist talk) regarding this matter. 143 Band, the artistic project of Paradise Sorouri, also known as the first female rapper in Afghanistan, will be there and play an important part in the event.
