Village choir songs and desert guitar
Les Filles de Illighadad ("Daughters of Illighadad") was founded in Illighadad, Niger in 2016 by solo guitarist Fatou Seidi Ghali and the renowned singer Alamnou Akrouni. In 2017, they were joined by Amaria Hamadalher, a central figure on the guitar scene in Agadez, and Abdoulaye Madassane, rhythm guitarist and son of Illighadad.
The band mixes two distinct styles from their home region - ancient village choir songs and desert guitar. The result is a whole new path for Tuareg folk music and a sound that resonates far beyond their village. In recent years, the band has toured non-stop, bringing their distinctive music to distant corners of the globe.
After the concert, DJ Sissyfus and DJ Daeva revive the good old chill-out room from the 90s, but this time in the spirit of folk music.
Nasim aka Daeva is an Oslo-based artist and DJ, born and raised in Tehran, who since 2004 has performed at clubs and festival stages such as Cosmopolite, Blå, Khartoum, Godthåb, Salt, Riksscenen, Mela and Oslo Pride, to name a few.
