The Embassy of Mexico, in collaboration with Film fra Sør, the City of Oslo, and Oslo World, invites everyone to Vestre Gravlund for a special celebration of the Day of the Dead.
The Mexican celebration Día de los Muertos – the Day of the Dead – is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. This year, the Embassy of Mexico, in collaboration with Film fra Sør, the City of Oslo, and Oslo World, invites everyone to Vestre Gravlund for a special commemoration and screening of Pixar’s fantasy film Coco.
The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday during the festival, in the two chapels within a short walking distance from Borgen metro stop: the Old and the New Chapel. This year’s celebration also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of artist Emanuel Vigeland, who decorated the old chapel. Guided tours will be offered, and a special altar will be installed here, featuring material from Emanuel Vigeland’s collection.
There will also be two screenings of Coco – in Norwegian on Saturday and in Spanish on Sunday.
