Oslo World x Lyd: Yung Singh, Olle Abstract, MC Kaman + DJ2Chaos + Kash

Yung Singh 

Nobody does it like Yung Singh. He is one of the most exciting DJs on the world circuit, having spent the last few years leveling up from local phenomenon to shining global star. Singh’s sets span the full dance music spectrum — from hip-hop and rap to everything in between — all blended seamlessly with his Punjabi roots. Hus output has helped re-energise the British Punjabi and South Asian music scene. Standout performances at South Asian–focused events have cemented his position at the forefront of this cultural resurgence.

Yung Singh has also contributed to numerous projects that shine a light on Punjabi, Sikh, and South Asian arts, history, and culture. His now-legendary performances span some of Europe’s most respected festivals and clubs: from Horst in Belgium to Barcelona’s Sónar, MELT in Germany, Glastonbury, and, of course, a groundbreaking debut at Panorama Bar in Berghain to top it all off.

Olle Abstract

A nonpartisan tastemaker that is as comfortable in the company of the latest pop sensation as he is sampling the delicacies from House music’s more obscure origins. His monthly podcast LYD, in which he introduces us to new Norwegian music, is an imperative part of our ongoing musical education at Jæger and when we do have the honour of his larger than life presence in our booth, we’re always amazed by his versatility. Olles mixes burn through the rings of Space Disco, passes by the lunar stations of Afro-Beat, and gets sucked into the black-hole of acid into the furthest possible dimensions of House, Techno and Disco. 

MC Kaman

A larger than life figure and one of the proprietors of Oslo’s “hard core clubbing” (sic) institution, MC Kaman might play underground, but his sole purpose in life is cultivating a convivial atmosphere. His CD cases quite literally bulge with guilty pleasures and affable arrangements from the charts. There’s no musical taboo he is not willing to break and there is no irony to be found in an MC Kaman set… only a good time in the company of good popular music. 

DJ2Chaos

DJ2Chaos aka Chioko twins, are contemporary Norwegian fashion icons and DJs. Literally twins, they bring their eccentricisms to the DJ booth as MC Kaman acolytes, bringing a new dimension to Saturday’s guilty pleasures.
