With a tender voice, an ear for lush, intimate arrangements and a passion for music that transcends borders, Paula Prieto from Argentina has firmly established herself as one of the great emerging talents on the Latin American music scene.
Though Prieto was born in the U.S, her heart beats to the rhythm of her Argentine roots. Thanks to soul-stirring singles like “Lo que elegiste” and "Yo nunca sé nada de ti", her latest EP "esto es para mi || EP" has struck a chord with listeners. Made with the helpful donation from an excited listener who heard her opening for Ed Maverick in Los Angeles in 2022, the recording fits 11 tracks into 20 minutes. It shows her talent for miniature tunes in sparse surroundings, leaving everything up to the room, the voice and the guitar. Fueled by her passion for storytelling and her love for the guitar, Prieto is gearing up for her next musical venture "Temporal LP", drawing on influences from folk, rock, and indie. This fall, she will visit Oslo and Victoria for the very first time.
