Svenske tilstander!
In connection with Oslo World, we're taking a sneak peek across the border to see just how *ill they've become in Sweden.
If you thought this meant a much-needed break from the Hardanger fiddle, think again—because in Hälsingland lives a certain Staffan Jonsson. When he's not growing onions, shredding on electric guitar, or selling perfume, he's blowing us away on our own national instrument. Anyone know how to say "ædda bædda" in Swedish?
The night escalates with the hard-hitting trio Duga. With their Grammis-nominated EP Ørf – Our Extended tucked in their inner pocket, they play music described by Lira Musikmagasin as “The Darkest of the Year.”
To lift us back into the light, we’ve got none other than Blodklubben’s resident DJ and co-booker Sissyfus aka Center of the Universe, who for the occasion is crossing the border with his wild remixes and delivering a true "harrytur" of a set.
Lineup:
Staffan Jonsson – Hardanger fiddle
Duga:
Olof Kennemark – Viola d’amore, flatfele
Albin Broberg – Moraoud, cittern, sampler
Anton Johansson – Percussion, electronics
DJ Sissyfus
*The slang terms “ill” and “illest” are used to describe someone or something that’s really cool.
