A fresh piano trio with infectious energy
The Spanish piano virtuoso Xavi Torres, born in 1991, is one of the most outstanding young musicians on the European jazz scene.
Torres’ music is highly imaginative and melodic, while also being rhythmically powerful and energetic. He combines his Mediterranean roots with experiences from Amsterdam, classical music, and South American rhythms. His compositions and the interplay with his band are in constant development and full of exploration, making each concert unique and taking the audience on an emotional journey.
Last year, he released Quarantena Songs on Dox Records, which won the Enderrock Award for Best Album of the Year. All the music was conceived during the pandemic lockdown. As both a challenge and an exercise, Torres wrote one new piece of music each day. The aim of this “exercise” was to keep his energy and creativity alive. The result is music that connects to the realities and challenges of the time, but also stands on its own. The music is anything but confined—it is outward-looking, full of energy, air, and vitality.
Welcome to a fresh piano trio with infectious energy!
