A Catalan star's first visit to Norway.
Ever since she scored her breakthrough hit in 2016 with “Pai”, a catalan reinterpretation of Rihanna’s “Work”, Bad Gyal has become one of the defining artists of the new Spanish urban scene. Drawing on journeys to Jamaica and Latin America and with a distinct love of autotune vocals, she has fused her passion for dancehall, dembow, Latin trap and the urban lexicon of her mother tongue, with remarkable success. She has headlined festivals all over the world - at Primavera last year, the large, loving crowd knew every word of her songs.
Alba Farelo i Solé was born in Barcelona, and started making a name for herself as a performer in night clubs around the city while she was attending university. Her first two mixtapes gained recognition from media outlets such as Pitchfork, The Fader, Fact Magazine and The Guardian.
Since then, Bad Gyal has signed with Interscope Records, moving into more commercial territory. Songs like Fiebre, Alocao, Zorra and Nueva York (Tot*) have attained cult status and platinum numbers. Her latest EP, Warm Up, from 2021 included hits such as “Pussy”, “Judas” and “44”, and made its debut at the top 10 of Spotify's Global Album Chart.
We’re looking forward to welcoming one of the stars of Spanish pop music to Norway for the very first time.
