A young person’s guide to Oslo World

The Oslo World experience with no age limits. 

Oslo World starts in a week – and there are several ways of enjoying the festival, even for those who are under the age of 18. 

Note that several of the venues will accept people who are under age if they are in the company of a chaperone, and has informed the venue in advance! If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact us at info@osloworld.no.

But there are also concerts that anyone can attend. Oslo World Youth is the highlight of our youth booking – it is free of charge, and happens on the Saturday during this years festival. 

But we are also delighted to present a jazz concert with no age limit at Nasjonal Jazzscene – Xavi Torres, one of the most exciting names in European jazz, with his trio. 

This year, we will also celebrate the Mexican Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, in style, with family activities at Riksscenen, Kulturkirken Jakob and Vestre Gravlund

Oslo World UNG: SA_G, Drakånis, Aryaan + a surprise

Every year, Oslo World UNG hosts a concert with no age limit during the festival. Together with Parkteatret's concert series Yngling, they have outdone themselves this year - Saturday during the festival you can hear Norway's hottest rapper right now, the young hitmaker Aryaan, and one of the driving forces of a new generation of Norwegian rock. A secret band will also play – and they are every bit as happening as these names. Oslo World UNG is free of charge, all you need to do is sign up for it - see you at Parkteatret!

SA_G

2025 was the year when SA_G made her definitive breakthrough on the Norwegian hip hop scene. Her debut album Gunnhild fulfilled sky-high expectations, it has received rave reviews everywhere - and as of today, she might be the most magnetic artist in Norway. Who knows when it will be possible to see SA_G on such an intimate stage as Parkteatret in Oslo again. This is a rare opportunity. 

Drakånis

Drakånis is one of the frontrunners in a new, vital generation of Norwegian rock bands. With catchy songs and intense concerts, they are about to shoot straight up, this summer they played at Tons of Rock and this fall they will come to Oslo World.

Aryaan

Aryaan (13) from Oslo got a great start to his career this summer, when he released the single "Iskrem på pinne", which you have surely already heard and which landed in first place on Viral50 Norway. Later in the summer came the sequel "Jenta bak de solbrillene", he warmed up when Undergrunn had the Gaza festival at Blå and now this year's Norwegian pop star is coming to Oslo World.

Secret band

This is, as indicated, a secret.

The event takes place on Saturday at Parkteatret at 6:00 PM (doors open at 5:00 PM) and is FREE – but registration is required and you can do it here.

Oslo World UNG Panel Discussion - Borders

Oslo World's UNG Council invites you to a panel discussion, linked to the theme "Borders". Youth in Oslo must deal with boundaries in several areas. Which district do you belong to? How good are your grades? What can you afford? Which side of the Akerselva are you from? How much do you share with your friends? What kind of music do you think is good and bad? What languages ​​do you understand? How close do you let people get to you?

Panelists: Ida Helene Benonisen, Daniel Obede and Sahal Arrale.

The discussion will take place on Wednesday, October 29th at 10:00 AM at Sentralen, and is free. Note: It will be held in Norwegian.

Xavi Torres Trio

The Spanish piano virtuoso Xavi Torres, born in 1991, is one of the most outstanding young musicians on the European jazz scene. Torres’ music is highly imaginative and melodic, while also being rhythmically powerful and energetic. He combines his Mediterranean roots with experiences from Amsterdam, classical music, and South American rhythms. His compositions and the interplay with his band are in constant development and full of exploration, making each concert unique and taking the audience on an emotional journey.

Xavi Torres Trio plays a concert with no age limit at the National Jazz Scene on Wednesday, October 29th at 17.00.

Coco 2

The Day of the Dead at Vestre Gravlund - Coco Screening!

The Mexican celebration Día de los Muertos – the Day of the Dead – is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. This year, the Embassy of Mexico, in collaboration with Film fra Sør, the City of Oslo, and Oslo World, invites everyone to Vestre Gravlund for a special commemoration and screening of Pixar’s fantasy film Coco.

The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday during the festival, in the two chapels within a short walking distance from Borgen metro stop: the Old and the New Chapel. This year’s celebration also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of artist Emanuel Vigeland, who decorated the old chapel. Guided tours will be offered, and a special altar will be installed here, featuring material from Emanuel Vigeland’s collection.

There will also be two screenings of Coco – in Norwegian on Saturday (12.00) and in Spanish on Sunday (10.00).

Dance with Raya and Natasha + A Tribute to Coco 

LilleRIKSEN invites you to a unique dance workshop with Raya and Natasha Bielenberg! Since arriving in Norway in 1967, the Bielenberg family has proudly shared and preserved Romani culture in the country. At this workshop, both children and adults will have the chance to learn lively dances and experience the powerful music of the traveling culture that Raya herself refers to as Gypsy.

With live mariachi music, dance, deep emotions, and festive colors, we take the audience on a journey through the magical streets of Mexico, featuring songs like RecuérdameUn Poco Loco, and other beloved classics – all performed by professional musicians and dancers in full costume.

Xibalbita 2025 - Legends for Children at Kulturkirken Jakob

MEXperience Norway and Oslo World invite you to an immersive celebration of the Day of the Dead at Kulturkirken Jakob with colors, music and stories that awaken the imagination. The theme this year is stories from Mexico's indigenous people, and those who come are invited to creative workshops, storytelling sessions, performances and activities suitable for the whole family. Bring the children and experience a world where the dead smile... and the legends dance!

Xibalbita 2025 will take place on Saturday, November 1st at Kulturkirken Jakob.
